A grey day yes, but still nice for a short photo-walk along the Dudley Number Two Canal at the beautiful area known as Bumble Hole! Starting at Bumble Hole Bridge going past the Visitor Centre and as far as the south entrance to the 2768m Netherton Tunnel. Back towards  the visitor centre via another path. Photos taken along the way by Daniel Sturley. 

This post pulls together a set of photos taken on the 23rd February from the south facing 18th floor terrace of the 103 Colmore Row building and shows in mapped format what can be seen of the Birmingham skyline particularly of some great modern and classic architecture.

This trail takes you through this wonderful park to some great landmarks and includes the option (which we most certainly recommend) of a visit to the Nature Centre and the Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park. 

Explore a few places on the trail over an hour or two or spend a full day at Cannon Hill Park.

Here is a City Centre Trail (Centenery Square) to Bournville Village - walk, run, cycle or e-scoot.  Enjoy with compliments of our Birmingham community.

This wonderful trail is along the former Harborne railway line between Harborne and Summerfield Park. There are many places to join this walk, although for the purpose of this trail we will join at the Harborne end.  In total, it is 1.5 miles long.

One of the most interesting stretches of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal can be found in the City Centre between the Newhall Street Bridge and the Livery Street Rail Bridge, unless you are somewhat claustrophobic! Mind your head and enjoy a great urbanscape away from the bustle of the Jewellery Quarter.

Sandwell Valley Country Park Trail

This is a wonderful walk or cycle ride in a wonderful Park. There is so much to enjoy including the Swan Pool, Sandwell Priory ruins and Sandwell Park Farm.  Enjoy with our compliments.

Recently, local street artist Mr Bunny Bread (CREATENOTDESTROY) has been designing, illustrating and installing outdoor art murals in the Lozells area, to promote community cohesion, culture and a collective voice.

Birmingham has much more to offer than its magnificent city centre. There are some fascinating places to experience out in the neighbourhoods. Here's a look at Northfield. Well worth a visit. For history, there's St Laurence's Church and the Great Stone. Victoria Common is a great open space and not far away is Manor Farm Park.

Here is our second tour around Nechells. This time we start at the University Quarter in Eastside near Birmingham City University (BCU) and Aston University before making our way into Nechells via Aston Cross.  Of course, you could take the tour the other way.

Enjoy this walk with Jonathan on a walk up the Birmingham Canal Navigations New Mainline, starting at Old Turn Junction near the Arena and finishing just beyond the Galton Bridge in Smethwick. You can walk or cycle there and back. Or get the train back from Smethwick Galton Bridge Station to Birmingham Snow Hill or New Street (your choice).

In and around Birmingham, there is so much to enjoy with great parks, open spaces, canals, nature and wildlife. There are so many spaces for people to visit and enjoy.
