BIRMINGHAM SMITHFIELD
Smithfield is a £1.9 billion city quarter set to be crafted into a buzzing new residential, leisure, & entertainment district.
Up to 3,500 homes will be delivered alongside public squares and green spaces, new transit routes, c. 1M SF of offices, restaurants, a music venue, art gallery, hotel, artists’ spaces, and a school/creche.
A subphased phase one will tie Southside, Digbeth, and the city centre together at the earliest opportunity with new builds and a 16,491 sqm public realm.
MANOR SQUARE will sit above the buried remains of the de Birmingham family manor house and moat & will be celebrated as the birthplace of the city, with a landscaped event space for up to 7,000 people.



NEW MARKETS: Split into two buildings (5A & 7A), the markets sit in front of Manor Square.
The indoor market will consist of fish and meat, a dining hall, restaurant and event spaces, and the open and rag market.


RESIDENTIAL (4A & 1D):
4A (Reserved Matters): Overlooking Manor Square: 408 (1-3 bed' 1-6 persons) BTR homes, terraces, rear courtyard garden, balconies, 473 cycle spaces, 1,275 sqm of new public realm, as well as vibrant leisure and commercial spill out uses. Rising up to 19 storeys.



1D: 429 (1-3 bed) homes over seven to 15 storeys. Facilities include a garden, community room, a series of lounges, play areas, and ten flexible commercial units.
This fronts onto Central Boulevard, a major new transit spine that will open up the entire site and connect surrounding neighbourhoods.



COMMERCIAL OFFICES (3A & 7A):
3A: A new G+11-floor office building will be delivered, along with a square-facing terrace and street-level frontages.
7A: TBA.


DEAN STREET ENERGY CENTRE (4A3): This will allow easy connection to the Birmingham District Energy Circuit (BDEC), a city-wide district heating strategy.
