Birmingham Curzon Street Station is a landmark new rail hub that will play a vital role in the long-term economic future of the West Midlands.

Birmingham Curzon Street Station is a landmark new rail hub that will play a vital role in the long-term economic future of the West Midlands.

Net-zero in operation (BREEAM ‘Excellent’) and the ‘most environmentally friendly station in the world’, Curzon Street will provide a grand gateway into 21st-century Birmingham.

It will also become the first brand-new intercity terminus station built in Britain since the 19th Century.

Curzon Street will accommodate nine trains p/h in each direction, halving the journey time between London Euston and Birmingham to just 49 minutes.

The station will span 500m in length and 70m in width and will feature seven platforms, two concourses, 38 lifts, 33 escalators, and a signature diagrid roof combining structural steel and a hybrid timber/steel cassette, harking back to traditional station architecture.

There will also be retail, shops, offices, pickup/drop-off points, and a new Eastside tram line, complemented by generous landscaping and public open space, including a ‘Station Clock’ sculpture from Turner Prize-winning artist, Susan Philipz.
