The Development
The Lantern is a 12-storey gateway building at the heart of the Solihull 2036 masterplan.
Delivering 50 one- and two-bedroom rental units (14 one, 36 two), The Lantern seeks to improve the legibility of a prime gateway site into Solihull by providing a distinctive and affordable destination that is both viable and technically deliverable. The existing 62-64 Station Road (vacant) will be removed to facilitate the project.
The Lantern will also bring a permanent community base back to the area.
Offering 10 floors of residential, the ground floor will be occupied by a modern flexible commercial unit, with the peak exhibiting a stunning lantern tiara-inspired art installation along with a spacious garden terrace.
A new two-storey extension will also be made at 20-60 Station Road, offering up to 48 homes.
The Solihull Town Centre Masterplan aims to provide a framework for future investment and development which maximises the opportunities for Solihull, capitalising on its existing assets, and sets out a clear vision for Solihull 2036.
