History of Kings Norton Park

The park and gardens were once dence forest, cleared and farmed to support local settlements. Located north of the historic Kings Norton Green, the park was protected by the Conservation Act 1969. The park is set out over 25 acres, was saved for the advancement of factories and housing in October 1920 when it was bought by the Birmingham Civic Society. The park opened in 1924. The Civic Society provided funds towards the landscaping of a Civic Garden, which is near Pershore Road South. There is also a Shrub Garden near Westhill Road.
