In brief

Prestigious restoration of the site's centrally placed Grade II listed Villa, Heaton House - a circa 1795 building that dates back to the beginning of the Jewellery Quarter, and the erection of four surrounding builds, comprising 56 new homes.

With Heaton House set to become a four-bedroom mansion and the centrepiece of the regeneration, the entire site will be composed of 56 1-4 bedroom dwellings, including 14 townhouses, 42 apartments, and some 4,300 sq ft of commercial space.

With 30 one, 12 two, 12 three & 3 four-bedroom units to be created, all new builds to Camden Street & Powell Street will be 4-storeys tall, with the latter providing all the commercial space.

Once a middle-class dwelling house in the 19th century before being swallowed up by the industrialisation of the Jewellery Quarter, Heaton House will see all original features reinstated before the building undergoes the installation of new windows and an elegant portico entrance.

To supplement the site, inner courtyard spaces are provided alongside spaces for 17 cycles.

Mossvale Construction had been pencilled in to construct the scheme. However, their company collapsed just before the project was due to begin. The site picked up several months later, with Kavannagh Construction named as principal contractor.

In July, a piling rig arrived on site, signalling a construction start.
