In brief

The Gilders Yard is being redeveloped to provide 156 high-quality new rental homes, together with 10,000 sq ft of impressive commercial spaces.

The development - forward funded (£28M) by residential company, Grainger PLC - comprises the rejuvenation and conversion of 1912-built, Grade II* listed former Ashford & Sons jewellery factory (16-18 Great Hampton Street) into apartments, plus a further three distinct new build blocks, each with their own architectural style.

Occupying prominent frontages to Great Hampton Street, Harford Street and Barr Street, The Gilders Yard will feature an impressive array of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with commercial units firmly positioned at ground floor level.

13-21 Great Hampton Street, 20-26 Barr Street (including a two-storey rooftop extension) & a former substation will be kept and converted to create additional homes.

Amenity spaces are provided as enclosed central courtyards that lie on either side of the rear wing of the Grade II listed building, but in addition, many units will also have private balconies or terraces.

Vehicular access to the site is provided from Barr Street, which leads to a ground floor parking area with 47 spaces. Cycle spaces will be provided adjacent.
